Eating is one thing and eating right is quite
another. As you will realize, not so many people know the right food to eat: Food
that will not make them obese thus plunging them into great problems. Below is
a list of some of the food that does not contain gluten. But before then, one
may ask: what is gluten?
Gluten
This is a type of protein that is commonly found in
wheat’s endosperm that is ground to generate flour. In fact, gluten is made up
of two kinds of protein namely:
- Gliadin
- Glutenin
Why Should You Avoid Gluten?
Gluten is not necessarily bad but it is not good to some
people since they react with it. In fact they are gluten intolerant. Celiac
disease is a complication caused by the intolerance of gluten. Surprisingly, in
the US alone, 1 in 141 people suffer from Celiac disease.
This means that when such a person consumes gluten,
their body’s immune system is triggered resulting in damage in the intestines.
This is too bad since your digestive system will have compromised. Contrary to
the believe that gluten is found in some type of wheat alone, it has been found
in other foods. This then prompts you to be very selective with the type of
food you eat. Here is a list of gluten-free foods that you may choose from:
